Slavery and Human Trafficking

Modern slavery is a crime and a gross violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, all of which have in common the deprivation of a person’s liberty by another in order to exploit them for personal or commercial gain.

We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and are fully committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking in our corporate activities. We are also committed to ensuring there is transparency in our own business and in our approach to tackling modern slavery throughout our services, consistent with the disclosure obligations under the Modern Slavery Act 2015. We all have a responsibly to be alert to the risks, however small, in our business and in the wider supply chain we may be involved with.

This statement sets out G-Staff Ltd actions to understand all potential modern slavery risks related to business and to ensure steps are maintained to prevent slavery and human trafficking.

Our business

G-Staff Ltd is a recruitment company/ gang master (GLA) licensed agency supplying various types of business with a variety of services. The main proportion of the business is to supply labour from non-skilled to skilled workers to various companies needing additional labour for either growth/short-term needs or recruiting for permanent positions for within their company structure. Our workforce is variable throughout the year and can vary from 100 to 250 employees at any one time. Although this statement is not required at this present moment by law due to the turnover we feel very strongly regarding the concerns of Human trafficking and forced labour. G-Staff Ltd aims to set out high standards at all times concentrating on the needs of our workforce. G-Staff ltd is a profit based organisation operating from one central office in Rugby, Warwickshire, UK.

Connections as a supply chain and Supplier adherence to our values

The relationship with all our clients has been established over a number of years and is built upon mutually beneficial factors, where we have close and personal links and contact with the owners, directors or higher placed managers typically reflecting the fact that we partner with Small and medium-sized operations in the main.

As and when we have new clients, contractors or suppliers come on-board we pre-qualify any new firm through a series of diligence, relating to company performance, HS&E compliance and references from other customers to establish that they are suitable.

To date we have not been made aware of any human trafficking/slavery activities within the business connections, supply chain or services provided but if any were highlighted to us then we would act immediately in accordance with our legal and moral obligations.

Our policies on slavery and human trafficking

We are committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our services, supply chains or in any part of our business. Our Anti-slavery Policy reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our services or supply chains etc.

Potential Exposure

G-Staff Ltd considers its main exposure to the risk of slavery and human trafficking to exist in the areas of recruitment by the means of introductions by other parties. These parties are simply referred away from G-Staff Ltd because they involve the provision of labour in a country where protection against breaches of human rights may be limited.

In general, G-Staff Ltd considers its exposure to slavery/human trafficking to be relatively limited. Nonetheless, it has taken steps to ensure that such practices do not take place in its business nor the business of any organisation that supplies goods and/or services to it.

Due diligence processes for slavery and human trafficking

As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk, we have in place systems to:

  • Ensure that each and every person using the services of G-Staff Ltd do so under their own freedom of choice and are free to change their minds or leave our employment at any time.
  • No original documentation has been nor will ever be held either by force or by the choice of any candidate wishing to register and work through the services provided by G-Staff ltd.
  • We will identify and assess potential risk areas when considering taking on new clients, suppliers and regularly review our existing supply connections.
  • Mitigate the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in our client base.
  • Monitor potential risk areas in our client base.
  • Protect whistleblowers.


We have zero tolerance for slavery and human trafficking. To maintain awareness and ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our business the directors will hold regular training sessions in order to ensure the consultants within the business are fully briefed and understand what is required of them, the business our clients and suppliers.

Although G-Staff Ltd is not presently under obligation by law to produce this statement, it is written pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our Group’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 2016.
